Mary's Chapel AME Church will be Celebrating their Annual Men's Day Program on September 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Speaker for the afternoon service will be The Rev Benjamin Burke from Alabama, with music brought by The Rev Dezi Fletcher and Men of Fayetteville. Dinner will be served after the Morning Service. Chairperson for the program is Brother Tony Hockett and The Rev Ruby Mason-Crum is Pastor of the Church. Everyone is cordially invited.

Benefit for Shane Woods, cancer patient, September 29, 2018 at the Vann Town Volunteer Fire Department.  Half-chicken, baked beans, potato salad and cole slaw plates for $10 will be served beginning at 4 p.m.(Hamburger and hotdogs will be available) Auction at 6 p.m.  Lots of goodies have been donated to this benefit, including a 2001 Dodge pick-up.  Come join us and help out a fellow citizen.

Beech Grove United Methodist Church in the Hughey community will hold its annual Chili, Stew & Open Mic fundraiser on Saturday, September 29th. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. A Silent Auction in memory of Wade Mitchell will be available for bidding during the meal and singing. Auction items will include handmade crafts, homemade desserts and miscellaneous items. Special entertainment will be provided by the Beech Grove Singers, and local entertainers along with an Open Mic invitation for other gospel and country singers. Meal will include “All you can eat” chilies and stews, corn bread, a homemade dessert and a drink for only $7. Hot dogs will be available for kid’s plates. Everyone is welcome. Proceeds will help Beech Grove mission projects. From Fayetteville, Hwy 64W about 5 miles, right on Hughey Rd (across from Deer Valley Flags) look for Beech Grove sign, then 1.5 miles on the right.
